Un-christian-like opinion?

This is a problem I have with what is being "implied". That it is "un-christian like" for me to oppose helping people who can not afford health care. My problem is NOT with helping my neighbor. This healthcare plan in place will pay for abortions. Granted it has been fine-tuned to only include abortions in the case of rape, incest, or the life of the mother. But it still pays for something morally I cannot support. This isn't political, it's moral.

I also have a problem with someone telling me I am "un-christian -like", when my God has been removed from schools, from prayer and made to be a moment of silence, from our pledge of alliegence, from our currancy, The 10- commandments removed from any public buildings, any mention of God from any public buildings, from curriculum, and my Christian values become the radical oppinion, and then turn those values around and try to guilt me into accepting a health care plan to help the poor that I morally believe is wrong! I don't think so.

I also have a problem with the white house keeping tabs on anyone who opposes or questions this healthcare plan. And the public was told to report these people (emails) to flag@whitehouse.gov. http://www.infowars.com/white-house-ask-people-to-spy-on-health-care-dissidents/
And, just this week, the white house removed the video!
In the mean time, senator Cornyn asked the white house to stop this practice of compiling lists of people opposing healthcare!

I'm not feeling this way because of a candidate, a particular political party, or anything but reading and investigating for myself. And healthcare is just the tip of the iceberg.

The Apostle Paul in Romans chapter 13 clearly states that we must obey governmental leaders because all authority comes from God. But, in America, is it not "We the people"?
Here in America, at least, we express our obedience to God by exercising our rights and privileges as citizens, through our voice and our vote.

But here we have a government imposing forced health care and socialized medicine! Well I look at it like this, for me to voluntarily help the poor and needy is a worthy, scriptural, honorable and Christ-like act of human compassion. But for government to takeour money is stealing for which somebody should go to jail! This isn't giving Ceasar what is Ceasar's, this isn't taxes! This is forcing an anti-christian healthcare plan on me. A Christian.

Do Christians VOLUNTARILY pay tithes, help the poor and give to the needy? Yes!
Is it scriptural? Absolutely it is! But does the church TAKE it by force, or do you give it cheerfully? And is it between you and God?


And, here's another problem... stay with me here, if we have a govt run health care, they can impose something as "law" that we have to have done, consider this:

July 27, 2005 -- They're here. They have FDA approval. But are Americans ready to get chipped?

Getting chipped means having a radio frequency identification (RFID) chip implanted in your body. The chip -- about the size of a large grain of rice -- lies dormant until a special scanner is passed within 6 inches of the implant. Then it emits a radio signal that beams a 16-digit number to the scanner.

For security uses, that 16-digit number acts like an electronic key. For medical uses, the number is linked to medical records. Doctors to whom you've granted access -- emergency room doctors, for example -- can use the key to quickly get hold of your medical records.

Who would want such a thing? That depends on how you ask, says Scott Silverman, CEO of Applied Digital, which makes the FDA-approved RFID called VeriChip.

"When we first announced VeriChip, a network poll asked people if they would put one in their bodies," Silverman tells WebMD. "Only 9% said yes. After FDA approval, 19% said yes. When former HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson joined our board, the rate went up to 33%. But our own study shows that if you ask people whether they would have a VeriChip implant to identify their medical records in case of an emergency, the positive response goes to 80%."

The chip got FDA approval in October 2004. Since then, Silverman says, some 2,000 people worldwide are using them for medical or security purposes. But soon he expects that millions of people will get VeriChip implants every year.

Who Would Use RFID Implants?

Silverman says the medical chips are meant for five groups of patients:

* People with other implanted medical devices, such as defibrillators.
* Heart patients, especially patients who have stents in one or more blood vessels.
* People with diabetes.
* Memory-impaired patients, such as people with Alzheimer's disease.
* Patients who need frequent medical care.

The devices won't do much good unless hospitals buy scanners. Applied Digital maintains a secure database to hold client records. But many hospitals using the system will set up secure databases to hold -- and to safeguard -- the medical records of patients with RFID implants.

Two hospitals already are set up to do this: New Jersey's Hackensack Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

John Halamka, MD, an emergency-room doctor at Beth Israel Deaconess, has one of the chips implanted in the back of his right arm, between the elbow and the shoulder. An account of his impressions appears in the July 28 issue of The New England Journal of Medicine.

"A small amount of anesthetic is injected before the implantation is done, so the actual implant insertion feels just like receiving a vaccine -- a bit of pressure, not specific pain," Halamka writes WebMD in an email. "The chip has not had any impact on my self-image. I think of it as just another technology that provides practical value for me, such as my BlackBerry.

Now, they're imposing that these chips can monitor our blood to determine exposure to certain diseases etc..... what is to stop monitoring for anything after that?


What's the big deal right?

18This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.


It is immoral to rob citizens of the their hard-earned money in order to give to other citizens something that they did not earn. That is government-sanctioned stealing, pure and simple. And it is anti-Christian to take something out of the hands of individual believers something that they should voluntarily do out of their compassion for the poor, and place it in the hands of government to do through a mandated program.

Nowhere in the Gospels, or the New Testament for the matter, are we commanded to create government programs for anything. We are commanded, individually and voluntarily, to 'minister to the sick, help the poor, clothe the naked, feed the hungry, and visit the lonely and imprisoned.

When government does these things for us, it has the net effect of absolving us of our individual responsibility for these things. We can then rest with the self-deceived notion that 'somebody else is doing it' and then sit back and relax without lifting a finger.

Would Jesus be proud of his disciples basking in their laziness after creating a government program to do everything he told individual Christians to do?

I am passionate about this, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME WANTING TO DO SOMETHING "FOR GOD" as if that were even possible?? What can I do but offer Him mere Praise? But, He NEVER intended for us to sit passively by while the very things HE has given us are taken away..... When God gave Joshua, "everywhere the sole of his foot tread"... he still had to "tread"! When he gave David victory over the 9ft Philestine, he still threw the rock, It is God who gives victory.... thru us, not of anything we have done, but what He does thru us. I am who I am only by God's grace and nothing of myself, But he gives you and I an obligation to help the poor....... that does NOT mean to help the poor by supporting BIG Government injustice! This may be MY path that God has made me passionate about, I know it has sparked a fire in me not to stir up anger... but to call Christians to shake off the apathy and indifference!!

God Doesn't Care About Football! Right?

“If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” – John 15:19 Tim Tebow has quickly become a household name and the talk around office water coolers nowadays. People love him or hate him. Why is that? I think we can find many answers to that in scripture including us cheering him on as believers because he is  “being the sweet smelling aroma to those who are in Christ and the stench of death to those who are perishing”. (2 Cor 2:15) He continues to be strong in his faith and has always voiced and quoted his favorite verse John 3:16, and many of you have probably seen the pictures of him with it painted under his eyes dressed out for the game. Well in this week game, God displayed another way He controls EVERYTHING and confirmed Tim Tebow with some signs and wonders (Mark 16:20) that have many people shaking their heads. Tim’s favorite verse is John 3:16- and he threw 316 yards, for an average of 31.6 yards per pass in front of get this……31.6 million viewers! John 3:16 was the most googled bible search on January 8th, 2012 and talk about him was tweeted 9,420 tweets per second!!!! That left me high fiving the air screaming Yay Jesus!!!! Praise you Lord! But my co-workers didn’t see it that way. One co-worker was arguing, “you aren’t supposed to use Jesus for personal gain” - I don't believe Tim is- but I do believe He is giving God Glory for His talent and He understands Deut 8:18- “For it is God who gives us the ability to get wealth”. I listened to my co-workers quietly as they belittled this humble football player who uses ever opportunity to give Glory to God- when another co-worker says “yeah, I can’t wait until the big scandal comes out”. I stood up and said “What and AWEFUL THING TO SAY!! SHAME on You! Shame on YOU for wishing harm on him! Why would anyone WANT something bad to happen to him, How evil.” Well needless to say, it’s crickets in the job trailer now.     But like the verse says- if he belonged to this world, they would love Tim Tebow too….. I thought about what a great faith booster that verse is to anyone you know who struggles in their faith, are they cheering for those who being hated and are not of this world too? Are they wanting them to succeed? I know I am! Lets Pray: Lord Jesus, We lift up Tim Tebow today- not as some idol Lord, but as YOUR instrument to reach the lost in these last days. MAKE HIM STAND FIRM Lord JESUS against the firey darts of the enemy, may they fall to the ground powerless against him and the ministry he is in you! Lord I lift up my sisters and our families, may we ALL stand firm and be a witness for Christ even when we are mocked, ridiculed, and made fun of! Because we KNOW it is more confirmation we are NOT of this world and we don’t belong here- and Praise YOUR Name Jesus You have chosen US! What Grace! Thank You Lord for all you are doing in our lives- We bless YOUR Name Jesus!

Sleeping

Matthew 26:40

 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.


You know this last week (Sept 11th ) , I did a lot of thinking and meditating about the events of 8 years ago. There were many shows recounting the events of that day on television, which led me to thinking about my children. Bryson was only 5 years old, Caysee was barely 8, and Trent was 13. Trent would really be the only one of my children who could actually remember the events of that fateful day.

I thought about that fact. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing and the sense of Evil that day brought. But to Caysee and Bryson, seeing the events on television replayed, do not have the same effect as it did on  me. For one my being an adult and two I saw it live. It affected me so much I hurried to pick up my children from school early that day and  I remember a sense of feeling like I just HAD to get them home, where there is a feeling of safety. I prayed that day for hours it seemed,  I talked to God all day, I prayed for families, I prayed for children, I prayed for people blinded to see truth, I prayed for protection, I prayed and prayed and prayed. Even though at the time, I had not come into “a saving knowledge of Christ” or even what that meant, but there I was, HEAVY under the Spirit of God drawing me to prayer.

Bryson and Jarred were watching the events replayed of that week on television and started asking me questions about the people who did those things.  Going over the time frame with them and telling them about what was happening as they watched and what was about to happen. They were VERY caught up in the moment by moment events and  several times they paused the TV to ask questions. I was very happy for the teachable moments the replay gave me with the kids,

I left the room when the show went off to clean the kitchen and even though we had paused it, discussed it, witnessed the devastation,  prayed for wisdom and discernment, and even added a little bible study to it, the kids jumped up and went to play a video game. 

I thought about how that is similar to what we have done, only it wasn’t immediate, it took a few years for it to happen. We ALL WITNESSED this evil, it shook us, we prayed, we banned together, we filled churches to overflowing…. But sadly, we have fallen back asleep.

The enemy of our souls has flooded our vision with Hollywood Blockbusters that show so much violence and devastation our conscious has become desensitized  and seared to the real evil going on in this world. We rally together for a time when these terrible events happen, but we forget soon afterward. We “personally” go back to sleep unless one of these events hits our own home. Evil prevails when we do nothing. 

I wonder in a way if that was how Jesus felt? HE KNEW what was about to happen just as I did when going over it with the kids, I knew the desperation of that moment, even though the events were not going to change, I still felt compelled to pray, still felt that draw of the Spirit to go into the prayer closet and get alone with God. I wasn’t in that building or on the Cross, but Jesus was!  Real people were! Someone’s children, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, daughters, and sons. They were real happenings not something created by Hollywood.  Personally, in my own home, I am doing spiritual inventory or what I am allowing in my own viewing and those precious children God has given me to steward. I am looking at what I fill up my time with and committing to more prayer.

May Jesus find us keeping watch!




Let’s Pray:

Father, I pray you make our spiritual radar super sensitive to what is allowed in our minds and our children’s  minds. May you make our houses, "houses of prayer”.  Make us sensitive to Your Holy Spirit’s promptings to pray for the state of our county, our leaders, our communities, our churches, and make us One as You are One. Give us wisdom in this new day of evil of how to pray, how to get involved, how to do Your will Lord.
Father, heal us of our indifference and instant gratification ways. Heal our Nation Lord and draw us to keep watch and be ready for Jesus return. In His Name I pray, Amen.

Disconnect.....

Tonight I was having some quiet time, almost everyone in the house is sick, has been sick, or is coming down with something. So it was unusually quiet.... earlier when I got off work, my 16 year old daughter Caysee wanted me to take her to Rue 21 to pick up some leggings to wear under a skirt. We shopped and shared a little girl time looking at clothes together.

I looked around at some of the girls shopping in the store, and Man, did I feel a little old and out of touch. Me, best dressed in school, -- OLD, Out of shape, and Out dated! I looked closer at what these girls were wearing, at 5:15pm... sequins, 5 inch heels, 5 & 6 necklaces, bracelets , and huge earrings. Something you might see in line at 1 AM trying to get into a club in Atlanta! Thankfully, Caysee doesn't like skinny leg jeans, heels, sequined low-cut tops, and tons of necklaces. She's not a high-maintenance type of girl (Thank YOU Jesus!) But she has pretty good values. I started thinking about this precious gift of a daughter the Lord has given to me..... She struggles in academics, she's pretty naive' for a 16yr old, and this little girl LOVES Jesus.

I struck up a conversation with her about clothes in general in the car, and she just blurts out of the blue that a girl in her class is pregnant. A 15yr old girl is pregnant. She tells me that this little girl has a 1yr old baby already and is pregnant again, at 15.

I thought about the clothes these girls were wearing, I thought about the boys looking at the clothes these girls were wearing, and I thought, You know it just was not this hard when I was 15. I was all giggly and butterfly stomach feeling over the POSSIBILITY of getting to sit next to a boy on the bus coming home from an away football game! (I was in the band, and those bus trips were exciting!) But having sex? You know my mother never sat me down and told me what a "gift and treasure" I could give to my husband. Why it was so important to wait until marriage. That God had carved out the man I was to be "the helper" of, the man HE had picked out for me from the foundation of the earth!.... EVEN THOUGH I didn't get that speech, I did get it pounded over me thru religion! (I am the granddaughter of 2 pastors) So I'm not sure if it would have made a difference, but I would like to think it would have. I thought about the long talks I have had with Caysee about the "treasure" she is and the treasure she will be to the man God has picked out for her. I thought about this 15 year old girl who didn't have a mother tell her what a gift she had for her husband. And.... my heart went out to this poor girl who bought the Devil's lie that she could get love and acceptance thru sex, and she gave herself away to the enemy of her soul......

I turned the conversation back to Caysee and asked if she had asked this little girl to come to church, and she said, Mom, she doesn’t go to church. I pressed her and said, Caysee did you ask her?, she said, "Mom, I don't feel right asking her to come to church, I mean, I don't know what to say to her" I said, Caysee, how would you feel if you had messed up, and now, you were pregnant again, she fired back at me, Mom, I wouldn't do that, I know, I said, ok, but you have made mistakes, would you be kind of down? She said yeah.... I said, well the bible says that Jesus is close to the broken hearted, so maybe Jesus wants to use your mouth to be nice to this girl, and tell her about him and that he loves her. She kind of nodded.... but right there, I felt it in my spirit that here was my "teachable moment"! What an awesome gift the Lord gave me with MY daughter, He came in and redeemed that part of my life too....

Father, I pray, just as Jesus prayed, Not that you take Caysee out of this world, but that you guard her from the enemy of her soul! Protect her and give your angels charge over her to protect her in all her ways. She shows such faith in You Jesus. She is an ENORMOUS light in her generation, Father, may she make Your Name Famous and WELL known to everyone within her sphere of influence. Equip me Lord to lead her in the natural "bent" of her own personality and gifts you so lavished on her! Father, thank you for allowing me to see you did not "make" her handicapped, but equipped to fulfill your good works and your purpose for which you created her! May she always dwell in your house and may Your Praises forever be on her tongue! In Jesus Name! Amen!
